The power in the wind is produced by the effects of the radiant energy of the sun interacting with the earth and its atmosphere. This source of power is free, reliable, permanent as the sun, and available to everyone in windy areas.
While wind power has been used for centuries to perform useful work, it has only recently become one of the world's most rapidly growing sources of new electrical power generation. Since 1975, when it became evident that fossil fuels were finite, rapidly depleting, environmentally damaging, and increasing in cost, wind power has garnered ever increasing support. Mounting evidence that our consumption of fossil fuels is causing serious climate and environmental change has caused governments at all levels to create policy and incentives that allow for wind energy to continue its growth.
Because of the recent, large increases in the consumer price of electricity, the interest in and the demand for this scale of wind turbine is growing dramatically. The Entegrity EW50 is a valuable asset in both energy savings and the reduction of fossil fuel consumption. Each EW50 installed produces enough energy to supply the electrical, heating, and cooling needs of as many as 10 conventional energy efficient houses in North America.
